Doctrinal Statement

The Trinity

We believe that God is the One and only God, eternally existing in three equal persons:
The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit, each completely and fully God.

(Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; Eph. 4:4-6)

The Father

We believe God is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the creator of all things, and the Father of all who believe in Jesus Christ.

(Gen. 1:1; Matt. 6:9; 2 Cor. 1:3)

The Son

We believe Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God, equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one in the same.
He is fully divine and fully human, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin.
As the only human to live a sinless life, He chose to die on a cross as the complete and perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people.
He rose from the dead, proving victory over sin and death, and then He ascended to Heaven where He is at the throne of God the Father,
interceding for us.  He will return one day to earth and will reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Matt. 1:18-25; John 2:1-2; 1 Cor. 15:20; 2 Cor. 5:21; Rom. 5:8; Heb. 4:14-15

The Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit has all the character qualities of God.  The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity,
equal in divinity with the Father and the Son.  The Holy Spirit brings us awareness of our need for Jesus Christ
and comes to live in every Christian the moment they trust and accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

(John 3:3-8; 14:16-17; 16:7-11; Acts 5:3-4; Rom. 8:9-11)

The Bible

We believe the Bible is “God breathed”, composed of the Old and New Testaments.
It is God’s revelation to us, written by human authors, guided by the Holy Spirit.
As the very word of God, it is in its totality without flaw or error in the original manuscripts
and is the final authority in all matters about which it speaks.

(2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:20-21)

Salvation

We believe salvation is a gift from God, which is offered to all people, that we must accept by faith.
We can never cover or make up for our sin with good works; only through trust in Jesus Christ alone
are we forgiven for our sins, delivered from our alienation from God, and saved from God’s judgement.
The moment we turn to Jesus Christ in faith, our eternal life with God begins:
we are righteous before God through our identity in Jesus Christ.

(John 1:12-13; 10:28-19; Acts 16-31)

Baptism

Jesus himself was baptized at the beginning of His ministry.
We believe baptism is a visual display of the commitment to Jesus Christ, an outward sign
of an inward reality but not necessary for salvation.

(Rom. 6:3-4; Col. 2:12; 1 John 2:6)

The Church

We believe the Church is where the Body of Christ can assemble together to encourage one another
in the Christian life and to be equipped to reach out to others in the name of Jesus Christ.
“Ekklesia” (Greek, meaning “church”) is a group of “called-out ones” brought together
for worship, instruction, fellowship, and evangelism.  The Church doesn’t consist of a building,
but of those through whom God works in the world today.

(Acts 2:42-47; 2 Cor. 6:18; Col. 1:18; 1 John 3:16-18)
